Comments: I bet none of you remember me, but I remember many
of you! In high school, I was painfully shy and way too
self-conscious to excel in anything. And, I was a serious
educational slacker! But, after ten years of marriage that
ended in divorce, I decided, what the heck, why not pursue
an education' So, after many, many years, I started at the
very bottom at Glendale College. I put my entire focus on
learning and found that I loved it! In fact, I turned into
the kind of student I would have made fun of back in 1976!
Yep, I turned into a total school nerd! Hilarious! I
eventually obtained an A.A. degree with honors. It took
forever! I won't say how long. From there, I went on to earn
a Bachelor's degree from Occidental College, graduating
magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. Finally, in 2005, I
graduated from Cal State Northridge with honors, earning a
master's degree in literature. It just goes to show you that
you can achieve anything if you put your mind to! it; and
that it's never too late to learn! On a more personal note,
my divorce turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I just
celebrated 18 years with my significant other and love of my
life, British kung-fu master Alan Lamb, who completely
transformed my life, and introduced me to the other passion
in my life, Wing Chun Kung-Fu. When I look at my old senior
picture, I think, "Who is that person" I just can't believe
how my life has changed since it was taken--as I'm sure is
the case with all of you! And, I have so enjoyed reading
about all of you! This is a great website! I hope all of you
are happy and well, and pursuing your dreams. I wish
everybody all the best!

many years, I still use both my maiden name (Abril) and my
married name (Ramos) interchangeably.

Comments: It's been awhile since I first found this site and
told y'all about my life, and while not much has changed
(except that I've gotten older) I thought I'd update my
info: Yes, I'm still at the City of Mesa (just had my 16th
anniversary there) and will be eligible to retire in just
5.5 years...YIPPEE!! Yes, I'm still married...will celebrate
anniversary #26 in December...ANOTHER YIPPEE!! Unfortunately
since my last entry I've lost both of my parents to
cancer...mom in 2002 and dad in 2005, so my only ties to
LaCrescenta are my friends and classmates from good ol'
CVHS. Yes...I still sing, mostly in church and when my
employees at the City have a birthday. I'm now the parent of
two young adults...YIKES! Both kids are in college now, so
I'm almost an "empty nester" (daughter Erika is still living
at home for the time being). In my "spare time" (is there
such a thing?) I enjoy scrapbooking, hiking (will be hiking
to Havasupai Falls again this October with my son)! and
volunteer work. Oh...and this summer I spent 17 days with 8
teenage girls (Girl Scouts) in Europe...yes, I'm a brave

visiting my Marine son serving on the Syrian border of Iraq.
We spent six days together and was able to lead two worship
services for his unit while there. Currently, I am offering
services at 8 locations (outposts) in Ramadi where the
Marines and sailors are living patrolling their
neighborhoods. I travel once or twice each day to the
outposts. An average week for me is leading worship 15
times. The hard part is that I can't always rememeber where
in the city I went to sleep and have to figure it out when I
wake up. Jan, my beautiful and loyal wife of 25 years is

performing in the Actor's Cabaret of Eugene (Oregon)
presentation of Evita at the Hult Center. The musical

arthritis and is wheelchair bound but Actor's Cabaret made
the stage accessable for her. Even though ACE is deemed
community theater, we have been visited by Tony award
winning producers and recently Anthony Rapp chose our
theater for his book signing. Who would have thought that
quiet Margaret from CVHS would get a chance to play Vicky
Nichols in Full Monty, Mrs. Fezziwig in A
Christmas Carol and I just got cast as Mrs. Taylor in
Batboy? I am thankful to be a part of the Arts in a
community known for the Arts. It has done miracles for not
only my daughter, who was chosen as the Hult's SHO
performing arts student of March, 2006 but my son as well,
who just played the lead in Lane Community College's
presentation in Kiss Me Kate. My husband recently
performed the role of Dickinson in 1776 and Marley in
A Christmas Carol. I am thankful that I stuck with
Miss Nute's strict discipline because it has helped me. I
think of people from CV from time to time. I am sorry I

Beth, Lisa and I checked in to a hotel in Old Towne Pasadena

Steven Lee Kraut
Steven was killed on August 24, 2000. He
was married for more than 20 years, and is survived by his
wife Dora Lilian (Flores) Kraut, and four children, Karen
(2-8-81), Jennifer (7-1-82), Michelle (2-12-86), and Richard
(5-31-87). He lived with his family in Acton, CA. and worked
in Sylmar for Truth Hardware. Steve is greatly
missed.
Remembered by his parents, Don &
Lillie, and his brothers, Ken (Class of
74), Ron (Class of 78), Gary (Class of 82),

Good happening, It was time to start my own construction

Comments: After looking at all the old photos, I can't
believe It's been 30 years. So many things have happened,
Good & Not So Good. But our class seems to have
weathered it's way tru it fairly well. It makes me remember
the good old days when life was easier and we had no real
responsabilities. It's easy to get home sick for
LaCrescenta, even if I do come down to visit every once in a
while, since my parents and one brother still live there. I
have to say after a lot of traveling over the years and
living in the bay area (northern Ca.),It's easy to miss
SOUTHERN CAL. After missing the last two gatherings I'm
looking forward to reconnecting with a truly great
class.
